14. Core Class at Jack & Adams Bicycles (Mon. and Wed. 5:30pm)

I’m probably going to have to give Jack & Adams Bicycles its own post at some point. For now, I’ll to share a thing or two about the free core class held in the parking lot there on Mondays and Wednesdays at 5:30pm. As I think about this I’m laughing about the number of times I’ve gone to this class with a good girlfriend to just to be around the people, especially the guys. Some really great friendships have grown out of that class with both men and women. It’s easy to catch the gaze of a handsome guy who’s holding a 30-second plank and throw a big smile his way. Afterward, most everyone stands around socializing – the perfect time to meet someone new.  Tight abs and great looking guys are the ideal reasons to leave work a little early on Monday and Wednesday.

13. Auditorium Shores

Auditorium Shores at Town Lake (I refuse to call it “Ladybird Lake”) is the place where Gilbert’s Gazelles often do their cool down and running drills, RunTex keeps water coolers and happy dogs frolic everywhere – happy dogs make happy owners, by the way. The water coolers are quite the social hub for everyone, including dogs. There’s also something about sweet dogs that break down our walls and touch our hearts. Boys love their dogs. Heck, we all do! The Dog Park at Auditorium shores is just an all around happy place to meet guys. It’s so easy to strike up a conversation with a guy if your own dog chooses him or his dog first. Letting a dog break the ice is very effective for both genders. Even if you don’t have a dog, you can offer a guy a huge compliment by telling him how great his dog is. Really, there are few things more endearing than a handsome guy with a dirty, gooey tennis ball in his hand smiling with pride at the lab that just brought it back to him.

12. Target on Ben White and MoPac (Evenings)

You know, I almost didn’t add this to the list but, I couldn’t help it.  Seriously, there’s something about this Target location that a fair amount of good-looking, seemingly-single guys shop here (Apparently guys like Target too.  Who knew?).  Here timing is everything, though.  Weeknights around dinner time are the best; on the weekends during the day, the place is teeming with the usual soccer-moms with baskets full of children.  Just so we’re clear, I’m not a fan of conversations with anyone, let alone a handsome guy, with toilette paper and toothpaste in my basket.  Normally, I like to go in, get my stuff, get out, move on.  Here I tend to take a little extra time.  More than one guy has said “Hi!” to me in the aisles, making this a noteworthy Hot Spot.  Target is not my ideal place to meet a guy, but the crowd here easily makes this my favorite Target store.
